Estamos en 2018. Dolors Reig imagina la clase de Penélope, una niña que asiste a una escuela pública de su ciudad. Lo que nosotros llamamos profesor, ellos lo llaman tutor, dadas sus funciones de filtrado, crítica y coordinación del contenido. Mario, el tutor de primaria, utiliza una pizarra digital, conectada en red a los laptop de cada estudiante para dirigir o conducir los puntos sobre los que tratará la sesión:
Una vez realizada una breve introducción sobre los conceptos que los alumnos deberán entender, mediante una plataforma de gestión de contenidos con objetos de aprendizaje interoperables para la mayoría de los países occidentales, Mario inicia con los alumnos un viaje colaborativo y silencioso hacia la obtención de información relevante sobre la materia de estudio.
Cada alumno, mediante un sistema de marcaje social colaborativo y público para todas las escuelas, “Edu.ca.li.ci.us“, que detecta visitas a los mismos lugares y advierte de ello, debe buscar y redactar datos relevantes y conclusiones acerca del “viaje” que después relatarán a sus compañeros.
Mario parte de una visión constructivista de la realidad, mejor dicho, es consciente de que no existe una única realidad y acostumbra a destacar la importancia de valorar, no sólo los contenidos sinó el grado de consenso o popularidad acerca de cada uno de ellos según. No se trata de fomentar el consenso sinó de informar, en el mayor grado posible, de la diversidad acerca de un mismo tema.
Enseñar a explotar volúmenes de información incluso contradictoria, fomentando, más allá del consenso, el pensamiento crítico y creativo en forma de nuevas propuestas.
Así, durante la fase de retorno de la información, cuando los participantes relatan el desarrollo de su experiencia, Mario escucha y comenta las conclusiones de Penélope. Siempre son distintas de las del resto (no le gustan las fuentes masivas) y suele aportar bastante creatividad a lo que relata. Esta creatividad de Penélope, Mario la potencia y refleja en los resúmenes informativos acerca del trabajo de sus estudiantes, que publica periódicamente en su propio blog.
Penélope y el resto de sus compañeros escriben, desde hace tiempo también, en un blog de aula en el que reflejan lo aprendido. Explicar el funcionamiento de los blogs, como herramienta principal de desarrollo profesional futuro es una de las tareas de Mario.
Él se encarga, como experto crítico formado en las TIC, no sólo de valorar su utilidad de cara al conocimiento sinó también de contextualizar de forma ética y según valores democráticos y humanistas el uso de estas.
De hecho, incluso la evaluación se lleva a cabo mediante el sistema que propuso hace un tiempo un compañero, que gustó a todos y resultó en una adaptación de un clon de digg o menéame (agregador de noticias que permite la valoración o voto de los usuarios), “Evalúame”, como herramienta de evaluación en la que todos votan los logros de todos. Incluso la propuesta de contenidos es vehiculizada en otros centros mediante este tipo de agregadores.
Mario les hace, también, no sólo consumidores sinó también creadores de contenido. Les enseña a trasladar sus conclusiones al blog o wiki del aula, que todos manejan y en el que publican.
Hemos preguntado, antes de terminar a Mario, su tutor, cómo ve el rol que desarrolla. Y nos ha citado a Konrad Glogowski:
«Quiero mostrar que los profesores deben redefinirse como individuos y no autómatas cuyo foco son los resultados y las expectativas acerca de su trabajo. Soy un apasionado de los derechos humanos. Paso mucho tiempo leyendo sobre derechos humanos y abusos de los mismos en el mundo. Lo que hago en clase, cómo lo hago y quien soy como maestro se basa en gran medida en mi pasíon por la justicia social».
Su oficio es la pasión… y en base a esta mantiene lo que destaca como las dos cualidades más valoradas en esta época para el aprendizaje: la perseverancia y la curiosidad intelectual. Eso, que intenta potenciar día a día en sus alumnos, es lo que hará que Penélope, como sus padres, siga en el futuro formándose, participando en un concepto amplio del elearning, como ciudadana crítica.
